Yes, yes, there is a chance. Not only is there a chance, but I actually have a strategy to make this happen...
This means we had 12 candidates running out of the 49 state rep districts available and we were able to earn almost twice the votes than the Gary Johnson campaign and he was on the ballot in all 49 districts. Our 12 candidates averaged 20.19% of the vote, while Gary Johnson only received 1.4% of the vote.
The reason is because the Presidential race is highly contested. The media is saturated with campaign ads and news coverage. You can find Presidential campaign yard signs and bumper stickers in every precinct in America leading up to the election. Voters are getting constantly barraged by fear mongering to get them to vote the other way. We can already see it happening.
Our strategy here in Washington (and now Colorado as well) is to focus on running state rep candidates in every district around the state. If we want to get a Libertarian elected President, I believe that we first need to elect Libertarians to state office. We have never elected a Libertarian to state office anywhere in the country. Sure, there have been elected Republicans who have switched parties. Just last month, Nevada State Assembly member John Moore just switched parties to the LP.
Imagine the domino effect when we actually elect a Libertarian to state office? This will inspire and motivate new Libertarian candidates and activists around the world! Not only will it do that, but it will also bump up our Presidential votes. Even if the State Rep candidates are just running basic campaigns, it will have a positive up-ticket effect.
This is my strategy and it should be yours too. Run for state rep or support a state rep campaign and learn the skills necessary to political success. Let’s get multiple state representative candidates elected all around the country and boost up the vote totals for our eventual Presidential nominee!
