September 11th was a few days ago. The anniversary of the destruction of the world trade center have come calls from the President and the media for increased military action in the middle east and it made me very angry...
The main reason the terrorists use to justify continued attacks on America and Christians in general is our continued bombing and military intervention in their countries. The United States drop bombs and deploys troops, murdering innocent civilians, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, parents, neighbors friends. With every bomb dropped, every drone strike, every innocent person murdered, more terrorists are created. This is why I was extremely angry.
I see the cause of the problem and I see our government applying more of the cause. Trying to put out a fire with gasoline. But it’s not just the government or the media, some of my friends support sending more troops and dropping more bombs that will create more terrorists.
This video today is really for me to remember that getting angry and lashing out at these people who call for more war isn’t going to change their minds, just like dropping a bomb in someone’s backyard isn’t going to make them think that America is this great, awesome country.
They are going to resent us. This message may not be for you, but share it anyways because someone you know may benefit from it, and in turn, our movement will benefit. The only way peace can be achieved is through empathy and understanding. I think about how I would feel if a drone strike killed one of my brothers, my son, one of my close friends and I have empathy for the people who are being put in this horrible situation. I am also starting to use this same empathy to understand how the people feel who are calling for more war. I’m not talking about the politicians or the media, they get paid to call for more war, they get paid to create fear and animosity. I’m talking about those among us who feel a need to drop more bombs. Now, I don’t know the best way to approach them, I haven’t figured that out yet, however, I understand now that anger and hate will only produce more anger and hate, and animosity. We lose much more than we gain.
Remember, when fighting fires, the fire department generally uses water.
That’s my message for today. Thank you for watching. My wish for you, is that you take action to advance the cause of liberty, peace, and prosperity. Because it is a fact that we have a better way regardless of what anyone else says. Now let’s go tell the world. Have a great day, we’ll see you soon.
